A beautifully converted barn, with lots of character less than a mile from Bassenthwaite Lake, where some fabulous walks from your front door await.

A well-presented converted barn in a fabulous location with good access to explore the Northern Fells and Lakes: Grasmoor, Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks, Buttermere, Crummock Water, Loweswater and Whinlatter Forest are all close by. Enjoy a day out at GO Ape or hire bikes and explore the forest trails. The shore path at Bassenthwaite runs the length of the west shore and there is an open-air theatre at Mirehouse which is worth a visit. The Mountain Festival, which is usually held in May or June, offers three days of world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films with live music which take place in and around Keswick, which is just 7 miles away. If you are looking for something a little different, why not walk an alpaca or abseil 120ft into a disused quarry.

The property is based entirely on the ground floor and is attached to a larger property on the complex, this property is attached to the side and runs along the top of the ground floor accommodation. As you enter the property you will find yourself in the lounge which features beams and original stone walls, showing off its character and charm. The lounge has a TV and DVD player, perfect for settling down and watching all your favourite films. You will also find a formal dining area to catch up over breakfast and plan for the day ahead. The well-equipped kitchen is just off the lounge and has everything you need to whip up a delicious, hearty meal with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge, freezer and microwave. From the lounge head through into the hallway and you will find two bedrooms: a king-size and pretty twin bedroom. There’s a large family bathroom which features a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, there is a shared patio area to the front of the barn with picnic benches where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine on a sunny evening or coffee when you wake up. There is private parking to the front of the property for up to 2 cars.

Nice stay at the cottage, with a short drive to Keswick. Great meal at the Sun Inn which is 1 mile away. Dog walks from the cottage werent always ideal, the sheep paddocks were quite wet and the roads were quite busy with no paths.

It was a comfortable and cosy cottage beautifully located away from the hustle and bustle of Keswick, yet close enough to get the necessities.

A very lovely cottage. The scenery is amazing and the site is open to allow views of the mountains. Very comfortable and clean. A quiet situation with mostly just the noise of the sheep and birds. Lots of information about local attractions. We had a wonderful holiday and highly reccomend this cottage. Would love to come back and explore further asRead more it's a good base for the area. Hide

Everything was great.The Cottage was fantastic theres only one thing you could do with your own area to let the dogs into so you wouldnt need to be kept on the lead.
