This rural hideaway in the northern Lake District is the perfect base for couples and small families who love getting out and about in nature. Stunning walking trails are accessible from your front door, and you’ll also be close to the myriad of outdoor activities in Whinlatter Forest Park (10 miles). Other nearby attractions include The Lakes Distillery (1.5 miles) and Mirehouse and Gardens (3.5 miles).

The elegant lodge has an open-plan, studio-style layout, with quirky furniture and vibrant soft furnishings creating a truly unique backdrop to your holiday. The space is flooded with natural light, thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass doors framing fabulous mountain views. Taking centre stage is a hand-crafted, four-poster, king-size bed, and there’s also a sofa bed to accommodate two further guests if required. To the rear of the pod is a stylish kitchen area, along with a breakfast bar for sharing mealtimes together. After dinner, relax on the comfortable sofa, taking in the far-reaching views or watching a film on the Smart TV. A spacious wet room completes the accommodation. Outside, sip a morning coffee in the sunshine on the raised deck, or partake in a spot of stargazing on a clear night.

Keen walkers will be in their element, with many nearby tracks and trails to explore. Set off along the western shores of Bassenthwaite to admire the reflections and the local wildlife, or hop in the car to journey to the mighty peaks of Skiddaw (6 miles) or Blencathra (13 miles). The Georgian town of Cockermouth is 8 miles away, and has a great range of independent shops and eateries, as does the bustling tourist town of Keswick (7.5 miles). Keswick also has many outdoor adventure companies, offering everything from ghyll scrambling to kayaking.

Fourth time weve stayed here - perfect base for a holiday in the Lakes. Waking up looking out down the valley is so great and easy access to the best bits of the Lakes and nearby Keswick.

Great location with fantastic views. Basic kitchen equipment, ok for breakfast & quick lunch but dinner is a challenge.

Beautiful location with stunning views. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was great. Just not super practical to spend much time in or cook properly. I feel like its a little over priced.

The lodge was more than adequately equipped for my needs, bed was very comfy and I really appreciated the shower after a day on the fells. Loved being able to sit on the porch and look across to Skiddaw and watch the sheep and chickens doing their thing. My only niggle was the cleaning wasn't as attentive to detail as it perhaps should have been. ORead morether than that I really enjoyed my stay. Hide

A beautiful getaway. Warm, cosy and a stunning location. Good facilities for cooking and spending the evening in after days out exploring. Would definitely stay again (and for longer!)

Compact lodge with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. There is a combi oven but no instructions for use but thankfully we were able find these on the internet. Delightful location to explore the northern fells.
