This charming retreat is warm and inviting and has been decorated and furnished in a traditional style. Original features, such as an exposed stone wall, give the property a cosy, rustic feel. Enter the cottage into the sweet lounge, where comfortable seating is arranged around a TV/DVD. From here, head into the farmhouse-style kitchen, which has everything you need for a self-catering break, as well as a wooden dining table for sharing mealtimes together. When day turns to night, retire to one of the inviting bedrooms, a double and a single, both of which have en-suite shower rooms. Outside, an enclosed garden with a picnic bench awaits, boasting stunning views of the surrounding fells.
There are some beautiful walks from your front door, including along the western shores of the lake, where the views and wildlife-watching opportunities are fantastic. Further afield, the mighty fells of Skiddaw (5.5 miles) and Blencathra (13 miles) are a must for keen walkers. Alternatively, the gentle slopes of Catbells (12 miles) make a lovely walk for children or those seeking a less energetic stroll, but still with panoramic views. The bustling town of Keswick offers a wonderful selection of independent shops and eateries. Here, you can also board the Keswick Launch for a magical cruise across Derwentwater.
