- Although we had read reviews about the property from earlier in the year which highlighted concerns, we assumed that these problems would have been sorted out. Unfortunately they had not. An attempted bodging of the shower head had taken place by the application of a piece of plastic probably cut from a bottle to stop it sliding down to the base of the the shower head column. Needless to say, it didn't work. I was also quite surprised to find myself having to muster my rather meagre plumbing skills to temporarily repair the toilet seat which insisted on sliding off the bowl at every opportunity. These are the two main criticisms but I must add that the light above the cooker, again mentioned by earlier occupants still does not work and neither does the shaver light above the mirror in the bathroom. It would also help to have a set of precise instructions, written by someone who has actually used the electric fire, explaining how to operate it properly rather than the rather incomprehensible "official" pamphlet. We just couldn't seem to keep the thing on for more than hour. Neither of us are particularly demanding when it comes to domestic bliss having spent many years wild-camping all across the Lakes but I really do think that someone needs to put their hands in their pockets and just get these things sorted out.
