We stayed at this holiday cottage and unfortunately found it quite underwhelming, especially given the high price. The kitchen was poorly equipped - surprisingly there was no bread knife or oven proof dish which made self catering rather difficult. The location is far from any amenities so be prepared for a lot of driving if you need shops, restaurRead moreants or others. Overall, it felt expensive for what was offered and we expected more comfort and practicalities for the cost. Hide

Good living space and surroundings, kids loved the hot tub and delighted by roaming peacocks, kitchen equipment basic but clean and adequate. Reasonable value in pleasant surroundings. Bed was a bit saggy but that's personal preference and won't be a problem for some. Nice it was king size. Only minor point is a couple of minor issues were spotted,Read more e.g. main bathroom shower head clips were missing and it kept coming off. Reported this and dishwasher not working but no action taken or follow up. Hide

Fantastic stay at this lodge. Really cosy and spacious, everything you could need for cooking and dining in but also with the fantastic positioning of the pub across the road to dine out! We enjoyed our stay in Shefferlands which was very clean and comfortable. The location made access to the Lakes, Northumberland & Scotland easy although the motorway was congested with people arriving for a festival while we were there. We weren't disturbed by road or railway noise. The hot tub and outdoor furniture was great and we made good use oRead moref these as it was too hot to stay in the lodge during the evening as the heating was on in July!
