Parking can sometimes be a headache in Keswick, but with the property you have the advantage of a private parking permit, so your lovely day in the Lakes won’t be marred by hunting for a parking space.
Keswick is a jewel in the northern Lake District's crown, located on the shore of beautiful Derwentwater. It's a vibrant market town with a wonderful atmosphere where you can indulge your wild side with any number of adventurous outdoor activities or pamper your taste buds with a huge range of eateries offering great local food and Cumbrian real ales. The walking and cycling on offer here is second to none, with paths and tracks for gentle, picturesque strolls or Lake District giants such as Skiddaw to climb if you're feeling more energetic.
Ancient and mysterious, Castlerigg Stone Circle is just over a mile up the hill from the complex. Dating from around 3000 BC, it is one of the most stunningly situated stone circles you will find, with breathtaking views in all directions. Nearby, there’s Keswick Climbing wall and Rookery Woods offering fun for all ages. Quirky, spacious this property offers a well-appointed and welcoming base to enjoy all the sights and activities the area has to offer.
This is the top floor of the house and preserves the quirkiness of the venerable building, the living space is full of character, with low windows, exposed, original beams and an inglenook chimney breast over the hob. Double aspect sash windows look down onto Southey Street and Shorely Lane, with views of the fells across the rooftops.
The kitchen area has a 'country kitchen' feel, and is well equipped with a fan oven/microwave, induction hob, dishwasher, larder fridge and under-counter freezer. The apartment also has a laundry cupboard in its hallway with its own Indesit washer/dryer.
The large master bedroom has a huge built-in wardrobe, a Victorian-style king size iron bedstead and vintage chest of drawers, dressing table and bedside chests. This bedroom also has its own Smart TV. The large en-suite bathroom offers views over the courtyard at the back to the fells and has a heated towel rail, wash basin with cabinet and shaver point, a bath (with handset shower) for a good long soak after an energetic day out, as well as a shower cabinet with overhead and handset sprays, offering a generous rainfall drenching experience, a real luxury after you've conquered the local heights.
The second bedroom features zip/link beds, so can either be used as a twin bed room or can be made into a super-king bed, just let us know how you'd like it to be set up when booking. This bedroom is also en-suite, with WC, heated towel rail, wash basin and walk-in shower with dual overhead and handset sprays.
