General Description

Lady of the Lake is a delightful property for two people, compact and unique with beautiful views towards lake Windermere. Located on a small complex of similar bungalows with well kept communal grounds and lake shore access, it is a peaceful spot for a relaxing holiday.

The cottage itself is petite and snug, measuring at 387 square feet in total. Enter through the front door and you'll walk straight into the bright and spacious living area. On the left is a table seating two in front of the large window. It's perfect for making the most of those stunning views of the lake framed by mature trees and looking right over to the wooded hills of Claife Heights on the other side of the lake. A two-seater sofa is tucked into the end of the room and an old carved bench provides a home for local information leaflets and a few books and games. Modern kitchen units run along the right hand side of the room. The kitchen is well equipped and includes built in dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer-dryer, electric oven and hob; there is also a microwave. A CD player and digital radio are provided for entertainment.

At the back of the room is a curtained doorway that leads you to the different adjoining rooms. To the left is the fully tiled shower room with electric shower and a heated towel radiator for snuggly warm towels. On the opposite side of the cottage you will find the bedroom with king-size bed, bedside tables, mirrors and a chest of drawers; the window looks over a grassy bank to the rear of the cottage. In between the shower room and bedroom is a small additional room with a handy hanging rail that makes for the perfect dressing room and snug. In here you'll find a day bed as well as the Smart TV with DVD player, ideal for cosy evenings in!

Outside the front of the cottage is a table with two chairs, a perfect spot for an al fresco meal or for just sitting with a cuppa and drinking in the picturesque views with a birdsong serenade. Beyond this the shared grounds offer a large grassed area with benches looking down towards the lake and a delightful track winding through the wood down to the lake shore. On the way you pass a wildlife rich pond and views across the meadows before you reach a little beach with a jetty out into the lake. Guests can launch their own small boat from here but it must not be left moored to the jetty overnight.
