We have just enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at Gill Beck. The village of Caldbeck is so beautiful, with fantastic amenities. The cottage was perfect for us and had everything we needed. The only down side was having to come home!

Hi Nicola, thank you for your lovely feedback. I'm so pleased you had a great weekend. It's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it? And the weather couldn't have been better!
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

We really enjoyed our week at Gill Beck. It is a bright, comfortable and well-appointed cottage, with everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the collection of walking maps and Wainwright guides. Caldbeck is a small quiet village with a nice pub and a small shop and post office and a couple of places serving food and coffee. It's a great base for exploring the Northern Fells, and there are some nice walks along the beck from the village.

Hi Peter, I'm sorry to hear that the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch when you arrived, there is now a new cleaner in place. The owner is currently refurbishing the cottage, new carpets are being fitted in the hall, landing and stairs and the cottage is also being repainted. I hope you still managed to enjoy your break, Caldbeck is a lovely little village isn't it?
If you would like any help choosing somewhere to stay for your next visit to the Lakes just get in touch and I'll be happy to offer some suggestions.
