Eskdale Walks

We are constantly putting together lists of our favourite walks and with Eskdale being where we grew up it is one of our most loved locations. Here we provide some information on various walks in the Eskdale valley to give you some ideas on where you might walk from one of Sally's Lake District Cottages in Eskdale.

Eskdale benefits from the coastal weather so generally is less rainy than other parts of the Lake District. There are short low level walks on by the beautiful river Esk, medium level walks on to the fells which afford magnificent views (Harter Fell being a classic) and the harder walks into the high fells with Scafell, Scafell Pike, Bowell, Crinkle Craggs all rising high above Great Moss at the top of the valley.
