Set within the grounds of Grade II-listed Garth House, this stylish three-bed retreat makes a great base for groups of families or friends planning a Cumbrian escape together. It’s on the edge of Brampton, a characterful market with independent shops, welcoming pubs, cafés and restaurants within 1 mile of your front door.

The house makes a lovely first impression, with its stone-built exterior and eye-catching blue detailing. Inside, the sense of style continues, with chic décor and luxurious furnishings throughout. After a day outdoors, unwind in the comfortable lounge, complete with soft seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner for cosy nights in. The country-chic kitchen is fully equipped for holiday cooking, while the elegant dining room, with its ornamental fireplace and generous natural light, sets the scene for sociable meals. A peaceful conservatory provides additional space for relaxing or planning tomorrow’s adventures. There are three super-king-size bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor, all with en-suite facilities. Outside, the private garden has a hot tub for evenings under the stars, and you’ll have access to a shared courtyard with a picnic bench and a charcoal BBQ (1st April to 30th September). Guests can also book daily one-hour private sessions in the on-site indoor swimming pool, which is open year-round for over fours. There’s off-road parking for three cars.

Nearby, head to Talkin Tarn Country Park (2.5 miles) for water sports on the lake. The city of Carlisle (9.5 miles) is ideal for a vibrant day out. History lovers are well catered for too, with Hadrian’s Wall passing nearby and attractions such as the Roman Army Museum and Great Chesters Fort both within 13.5 miles. You’re well placed for exploring further afield, with both the North Pennines National Landscape and the Lake District National Park within 21.5 miles.

Lovely and amazing cottage. Very comfortable and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the pool. Owners very attentive and helpful. Would definitely revisit and highly recommend.

This is a fab property in a great location. The beds are super comfy and the cottage is warm. Loads of space for 6 adults. Hot tub great and everything very clean. Owners were really communicative and friendly. 100% recommend.

Had a fabulous week at this amazing cottage. It was so comfortable. The extra bonus of use of an indoor pool and hot tub. The finish was top quality and so much thought has gone into every detail. We loved our stay.
