This is a comfortable self-catering apartment in the heart of the Newlands Valley. As part of a barn conversion, it retains original features including high ceilings, exposed beams and exterior drystone walls. The views from the cottage are stunning and it makes an ideal base from which to explore the valley and the surrounding areas. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both of which are en-suite. There is a further self-catering unit beneath; they can be let together to sleep eight people.
The Newlands Valley is the ideal destination for everyone whether it be to enjoy gentle strolls along the fells or more strenuous walks over Robinson, Catbells and Maiden Moor. The Newlands Adventure Centre offers ghyll scrambling, climbing, kayaking and numerous other outdoor activities. Buttermere, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite are only a short drive away. There is a local inn serving good food and ales a pleasant 30-minute walk from the property.
Little Town, which is a gentle stroll from the accommodation, was the setting for Beatrix Potter's Mrs Tiggy Winkle. The village of Braithwaite and the market town of Keswick with its numerous amenities are only 3 miles away. For a lovely relaxing evening out, there is the wonderful Theatre by the Lake in Keswick.
Situated all on one level, this is a first-floor apartment attached to a barn conversion on Newlands Pass. There is level access from the parking space via the entrance door to the open-plan living area.
The door opens to the open-plan living area with original beams and views across the valley. There is a well-equipped kitchen that includes an electric oven with a ceramic hob, undercounter fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and plenty of storage space.
The lounge is comfortably furnished with 42inch widescreen TV, leather sofas and a table and chairs for dining which seats four people.
On the same floor, there are two bedrooms: a double with an en-suite bathroom and a twin bedrooms with an en-suite shower room. Both bedrooms have wall-mounted televisions with integrated DVD players.
Outside, there is a parking space; further parking is available in the main farmyard. There is also a storage room which is shared with guests at the neighbouring properties. Guests are welcome to store muddy boots and equipment as well as bikes and it is advised that guests bring their own bike locks.
