General Description

Old Town Lodge is charming apartment, forming part of a quirky barn conversion on the edge of the small village of High Hesket. First converted in 2003 and further updated in 2019, Old Town Lodge now provides characterful accommodation for six with all of the modern comforts you'd hope for in a home from home.

Head up the eight external steps to the front door on the first floor. The covered entrance porch doubles as a sunny conservatory area, decorated with vintage sporting memorabilia and with a sofa and armchair to take advantage of the outlook over the balcony. Glass doors open into the fantastic kitchen. Well equipped with an electric oven and hob, handy microwave, useful washing machine, fridge-freezer and dishwasher - so there's no need to fight over who has to do the washing up! - the cooks in the group are sure to love whipping up a feast in here. The open plan living-dining room is a wonderful social space with a wealth of original features, from exposed beams to carved wooden gargoyles! Enjoy your home cooked meal at the dining table, ideal for catching up on the day's events or planning tomorrow's. The two sofas are positioned around the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings in in front of the fire. For entertainment there's a TV and table football, or simply catch up with a good book.

A wooden staircase leads up from the dining area to the second floor, where you'll find the three bedrooms and two bathrooms. First up is a fantastic king-size room, complete with its own en suite bathroom (WC, washbasin and bath) and with a handy wardrobe, small dresser and two bedside cabinets for storage. The balcony can be accessed from this bedroom, a real treat. Next along the landing is the lovely twin bedroom. Again, this room has a useful chest of drawers for storage and access out to the balcony. Last but by no means least is the second king-size bedroom. Another lovely room with a chest of drawers and TV. This bedroom and the twin room share a Jack and Jill shower room, which has a WC, washbasin and modern shower cubicle.

Outside the cottage there is allocated parking for two small/medium sized cars. As well as the balconies on the first and second floors, there is also a gravelled patio area at the foot of the external staircase.
