Very nice location although well away from/car drive to amenities, which is perfect if that’s what you’re looking for. Old building with nice renovation work! Needs touched up throughout, although the smell of oil in kitchen and utility area and some parts of living room is over bearing and will spoil your trip. Hot water was sporadic when using shower and bath! Could be better in summer if you can spill out onto outdoor space more to escape imperfections.

Hi Richard, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of Hall Garth Farm. Thornthwaite is a lovely quiet village that is really handy for getting to and from the bright lights of Keswick as well as other areas of the Lakes, I'm really pleased you were able to make the most of this! I'm sorry that your stay was affected by the smell at the property, I've spoken with the owners in regards to this during a recent visit to the property and this was due to recent routine maintenance and hadn't been an issue at the time of the service om the boiler taking place. Had we been made aware of this or your issue with the hot water during your stay we would have acted immediately to resolve it so I'm really sorry you hadn't felt able let us know during your week at Hall Garth Farm. Just get in touch should you want any help to find somewhere perfect for your next stay in the Lakes and I'll be more than happy to help you with this.

Fantastic cottage in great location, with Whinlatter forest on our doorstep! The cottage was clean, warm and super cosy. Lovely en-suite bathrooms and a great kitchen.
We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back again. Thank you

This is a spacious and comfortable holiday house. It is an interesting mix of old and modern - the house itself has slate floors downstairs (with underfloor heating) and plenty of beams and exposed stonework, but the bathrooms and bedding are really modern and clean. I wish I had a utility room that was as spacious! There are walks from the house, you can walk into Braithwaite, and it is only 20 minutes to the motorway. We had a really restful week.
