Coniston village in the Lake District sits on the lake of the same name and is surrounded by impressive fells such as the Coniston Old Man. There’s also a great range of places to eat in the village including pubs, cafes, restaurants and takeaways. Read on for our guide on where to eat in Coniston.
The Black Bull Inn

Possibly the most famous pub in Coniston, and seen in the popular drama
The A Word, the Black Bull is around 400 years old and was once a coaching inn. It sits next to the river and below the towering Old Man of Coniston and still retains much of its original character. Alongside ales brewed on site, The Black Bull has a good selection of food that’s prepared to order from local produce.
