This cottage is part of a large stone built barn sympathetically converted into three self catering holiday cottages, situated in an imposing position at the foot of Blencathra with stunning views across the valley to Threlkeld Common and Clough Head. The start of a walk up Blencathra can commence from the front door of the property.

There is a family-friendly pub serving local real ale and home cooked food situated very close by with two more great country pubs in Threlkeld only 1 mile away, all serving good food and fine ales.

The market town of Keswick is just 5 miles away, reachable by car along the A66 or by a lovely walk, part of which follows the old railway line with wooded areas and passes by the Victorian iron railway bridges. The imposing mountain of Skiddaw is also only a short distance away. The large private patio area to the front of the cottage has wonderful views across the fells and is south facing. A further BBQ and picnic area is shared with the two adjoining holiday cottages. The cottage is situated in an easy accessible position by the A66 but set high up above it.

The ground floor entrance leads into the comfortably furnished open plan lounge/diner with TV. There is a fold up table and chairs in the living room which seats up to four people. The kitchen area leads off and is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwahser, washing machine and microwave.

Steps lead down to the large twin bedroom on the ground floor. The spacious bathroom has bath, separate shower, WC and wash basin.

Further steps lead up to the first floor double bedroom with en-suite WC and wash basin.

The patio area to the front of the property has a table and chairs for sitting out and there is a further shared BBQ and picnic area to the side. Ample parking is available in the parking area to the side of the cottages.

The 'cottage' is conveniently located across the road from the White Horse pub with easy access to the A66 and surrounding area. We did note that with a very poor/intermittant phone signal (one bar on the road outside sometimes) and no internet communication with anyone outside the cottage was difficult.

Had everything we needed, great location but phone signal is non existent and no wifi. Having wifi would have helped us with planning our days out more easily

We have stayed at this property 3 years now and it is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District, the property is well equipped but somethings do need updating, like the mattress. We had some maintenance issues but they were dealt with straight away. A lovely, comfortable cottage. 10 minutes drive to Keswick. Walk up Blencathra right outside the window. Comfy beds. (We had no problem with the fridge.) The cottage is the MIDDLE one, it is number 2. There are no signs saying "Clough View" - the only sign is for Scales View. The parking is in the large open area opposite the pub (there is a rough Read morehandpainted sign saying "parking for cottage residents only".) There was no noise from the pub, although the road is a bit noisy. Reply from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thanks so much for your feedback, we have passed this to the owner. We are pleased to confirm the owner has put up new signage in the parking area. Hide
