This property retains stacks of character with its attractive stone exterior, interior exposed wooden frame and beams, and cathedral ceiling. You access the flat via the outdoor stairs and come into the open-plan lounge/kitchen, complete with a door to the balcony offering those priceless views – whatever the weather. The lofty ceiling incorporates the exposed frame, giving it a charming and airy feel. The modern fitted kitchen runs along two walls affording plenty of space and mod cons for self-catering endeavours. The dining room has a table easily seating four by the stairs which lead up to the mezzanine level housing a double bedroom, joining a twin on the first floor. The double is quaint up among the beams, with a skylight in the sloping ceiling – just watch your head. They share a stylish bathroom with a roll-top bath for luxurious soaks. As well as the private balcony, there’s also a shared garden with bench seating.

Keswick is within 6 miles with its shops, eateries and cafes. Walking and cycling trails abound and Derwentwater is around 6 miles, with Bassenthwaite Lake even closer. Catbells is 5 miles and paths to Skiddaw start around 3.5 miles away if you fancy a challenge. If you’re after something more sedate, take a trip on a traditional steamboat on Derwentwater or even hire your own rowing, sail or electric boat.

A lovely little place to stay. Very useful little balcony to sit and dine Al fresco when the weather is fabulous - which it was for us! We liked it and would return again!
