  • Superb position for shops and restaurants, as well as the market, theatre and cinema

Property code: OC-SZ157

This bright, modern, first-floor apartment is in the heart of Keswick, perfect for a couple looking for a comfortable, stylish base from which to launch into the Lake District. One of seven apartments in a characterful Victorian Lakeland slate building dating from 1860, it is set in a quiet side street just a 100-metre stroll from the bustling centre of Keswick, with its pubs, restaurants, shops, Art-Deco cinema, theatre and attractions. Parking can sometimes be a headache in Keswick, but with this apartment you have the advantage of a private parking permit, so your lovely day in the Lakes won’t be marred by hunting for a parking space.

Keswick is a jewel in the northern Lake District's crown, located on the shore of beautiful Derwentwater. It's a vibrant market town with a wonderful atmosphere where you can indulge your wild side with any number of adventurous outdoor activities or pamper your taste buds with a huge range of eateries offering great local food and Cumbrian real ales. The walking and cycling on offer here is second to none, with paths and tracks for gentle, picturesque strolls or Lake District giants such as Skiddaw to climb if you're feeling more energetic.

Ancient and mysterious, Castlerigg Stone Circle is just over a mile up the hill from Keswick. Dating from around 3,000 BC, it is one of the most stunningly situated stone circles you will find, with breathtaking views in all directions. Magnificent Derwentwater is just a 10-minute walk away from the apartment, where you can hire a rowing boat, take a launch around the lake or simply lose yourself in the scenery.

Comfortable and cosy, this apartment offers a well-appointed and welcoming base to enjoy all the sights and activities the area has to offer. There are seven apartments in total in the building. Booked together, they can sleep up to 18 guests and two dogs.

Acessed via a shared entrance, this contemporary one-bedroom apartment has a stylish open-plan living, dining and kitchen area flooded with natural light from three large sash windows.

The living area features a Smart TV, a two-seater leather sofa, modern furnishings and a dining table that will seat four. The triple sash bay window faces the front of the house, looking down onto Southey Street and across to the slate-built Keswick Methodist Church.

The kitchen area is well equipped, with modern appliances including a fan oven/microwave, an induction hob, a dishwasher and fridge with ice box. There is also a shared washer/dryer on the mezzanine floor outside (used by three other apartments).

The bedroom has a king-size bed, with ample storage in a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside drawers. There is an en-suite bathroom with windows to the side of the house, this has a WC, heated towel rail, wash basin with mirror and shaver point, and dual shower offering a generous rainfall drenching experience, a real luxury after an energetic day spent on the fells.

A private parking permit is included with your booking (a rarity in central Keswick).

  • 1 bedroom – 1 king-size
  • 1 shower room
  • Fan oven/microwave, induction hob, fridge with freezer section and microwave
  • Shared washer/dryer within the block
  • Smart TV
  • Dedicated parking for one car in the car park opposite
  • Shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs within 0.25 miles

Third time that we have stay in Easedale House and the 2nd time in the Curlew. In my opinion for a little more effort by the cleaners and the owners (shower seal and enclosure) it could be so much better from a cleanliness perspective. I would recommend if it was cleaner.

The flat is in a great position with the bonus of a parking space in the church carpark. Many walks attractions can be done from flat no need to drive. Some of the utensils etc in the flat needed replacing as worn or stained.

The appartment is well equiped and in a great location. It would benefit from darker/ thicker curtains in the bedroom as the let in a lot of light in the morning.

Apartment in a good location just minutes from the centre of Keswick and the designated parking spot just 50 yards away is a real bonus. Comfortable living area and excellent kitchen. Large comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The apartment was very clean and has everything needed for 2 people - would definitely stay here again.

A very comfortable apartment, which is well equipped for all your needs, and is well situated for all the amenities in Keswick. It is very quiet, we originally wondered whether it would be noisy as it is in a large building, but we have rarely heard anything from the other flats. The parking permit is a bonus, with parking at a premium in the Read moretown. Hide
