Located on a cobblestone street on the coastal edge of the Lake District National Park, this traditional cottage with wooden touches and country-style decor is an elegant couple’s escape which caters for a canine companion too. Spend your days exploring the crystal waters of the nearby beaches, exploring the proximal dog-friendly walking routes nearby and relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine while dining alfresco in the garden.

Make yourself at home in the bright lounge/diner with bold reds and a carpet for Fido to curl up on while you put your feet up on the sofa or sink into the armchair. Enjoy a candle-lit dinner at the antique wooden dining table after cooking something special in the neutral-toned farmhouse-style kitchen with dark flooring. Also on the ground floor is a stylish shower room. On the first floor, you’ll find the romantic king-size bedroom with a wooden beamed ceiling, pink hues and an elegant metal-framed bed. There’s also an en-suite shower room here. You’ll have use of the owner's large garden, with a patio and chairs, plus 16 acres of farmland during your stay.

Follow the walking trails to Scale Force Waterfall (6 miles), Buttermere (8 miles) and the High Stile, a mountain peak 8.5 miles away. Very friendly and helpful owners, but never intrusive. Wonderful views from the conservatory in the morning and at the end of a day's walk. Really well furnished and comfortable.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location. Perfect for a couple. A real home from home. The Fox and Hounds pub down the road is very welcoming and the food is good. There is a village shop and cafe which sells ice cream and some useful basics.

I stayed at the Hayloft for a week in July. The accommodation is of the highest standard, the location is fantastic - in the lesser-visited yet stunning Western Lakes, and the owners (Joan & Richard) went above and beyond in their helpful advice and recommendations. I felt completely at home in this property and would not hesitate to recommend it tRead moreo anyone else. Hide

We had a spectacular time at the Hayloft, the house was a true home in the best part of the Lake District, we wanted a slightly secluded yet breathtaking trip away and the cottage and area delivered. Walking the fields down to the river and into the beautiful village for an evening meal was so perfect, our little dog honey also thoroughly enjoyed sRead moretaying here.
