Cosy retreat in central Ambleside, ideal for couples, friends, or small families. The perfect base to explore the Lakes and just a stone’s throw from local shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants.
Sitting to the rear of a large historic property, this lovely home in a quaint complex of stone properties in heart of Ambleside is the perfect base for exploring Lake Windermere. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, it’s the perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who want to spend their days hiking, biking and sailing at Windermere, and their evenings chilling out on the property’s private patio or mixing with the locals in the village pub.
Accessed via a set of steps at the rear of the main house, this property has a homely cottage feel and enjoys stunning views across the fells. Step inside and you’ll find yourself in a quaint galley kitchen – the perfect place to rustle up some dinner for your nearest or dearest. Get the gang together to enjoy dinner at the table in the lounge/diner – a pretty room with original beams and views towards Latterbrow and the Fairfield Horseshoe. You may even be lucky enough to spot deer while you eat. After dinner, put your feet up in front of the TV in the lounge area, or step outside onto the small private patio, crack open a bottle of something cool and crisp and watch the stars come out. At the end of the day you’ll find a bright and cheerful double bedroom with fell views, as well as a cosy double with original beams.
Set sail for the day on Lake Windermere. Hop on board in Ambleside (0.5 miles), where boats will take you to Bowness, Brockhole or Lakeside. Alternatively, take a historic stroll at second-century Ambleside Roman Fort (1 mile), or hike up to the spectacular waterfall at Stock Ghyll (1 mile).
