As well as parking for two cars, there is a delightful rear garden with wonderful views towards the fells and Bassenthwaite Lake beyond.
As the name suggests, this property is surrounded by beautiful countryside, including the popular Dodd Wood just across the road. Follow the woodland trail to the summit, the stunning views from the top are certainly worth the climb. In the summer, you might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the ospreys, who also like to visit the area, from the dedicated viewing point in Dodd Wood. Plan a visit to neighbouring Mirehouse, an historic stately home with beautiful gardens as well as an adventure playground for younger children. Why not spend a day by Bassenthwaite Lake? Stroll along scenic lakeshore footpaths before enjoying a peaceful picnic, the well equipped can wild swim or simply find a peaceful spot to bask in your beautiful surroundings.
From Longlands Fell and Little Cockup in the quieter area known as Back o' Skiddaw to the more well known routes up Ullock Pike and Carl Side, there's plenty to explore close to the cottage. The bustling market town of Keswick is less than a 10-minute drive away and has plenty to offer. Indulge in some retail therapy, there is a great selection of outdoor and independent shops, or enjoy an evening out at the family-run cinema or take in a play at the renowned Theatre by the Lake. Adrenaline junkies can sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies or why not walk an alpaca at nearby Whinlatter Forest for something a little bit different?! However you decide to spend your time, this will be a welcoming home from home to retreat to.
Step inside this charming cottage and you're sure to feel right at home. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials for a self-catering holiday. There's an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and handy microwave. There's also a useful washer/dryer should you with to make use of this during your stay. The cosy living/dining room is a wonderful sociable space. Gather round the dining table and compare notes on the day's events over a home-cooked meal, or spread out maps and guidebooks whilst you plan tomorrow's adventures. Relax in front of the electric fire in the living area, there's a TV for entertainment too.
Onwards and upwards to the first floor. Up here you'll find the two lovely bedrooms. First up is the master bedroom, with a king-size bed perfect for indulging in a long lie in - you are on holiday after all! This room has lovely views over the surrounding countryside and benefits from some useful storage space too. The second bedroom has a single bed, with an additional folding bed available on request. This room as a sloping ceiling so may not be suitable for taller guests.
Also on the first floor is the family bathroom. With a WC, wash basin and bath with shower over - whether you prefer a relaxing soak in the tub or a refreshing shower, all tastes are catered for.
As well as a generous parking area shared with the neighbouring cottages, the cottage has a private rear garden. With views over the surrounding countryside to the fells and Bassenthwaite Lake beyond, it's a lovely spot equally suited to a morning coffee or an evening aperitif.
