A delightfully bright first-floor apartment, the property overlooks a pretty garden bordered by lush trees and an array of colourful shrubs in pots and planters. Situated on a quiet lane, the property has a peaceful location, yet is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Coniston village with its variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants. You can experience a true taste of history in the apartment, as Coniston Lodge was rented by Donald Campbell during his last and fatal attempt to break the world speed record.
The property benefits from two good-sized double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom making it ideal for two couples or families. A romantic four-poster bed in one room adds something a little special and a super king size bed in the other. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with your every need catered for including lots of lovely touches, such as a welcome tray with a delicious homemade cake. After a day on the fells relax with some quiet reading time in the comfortable lounge. Outside, the leafy enclosed garden with patio furniture and sunbeds is the ideal place to soak up the evening sunshine over a chilled glass of wine. Off-road under-cover parking for two cars and a lockable bike store provides secure, convenient storage.
This is the perfect spot for hiking. The property has many lovely walks right from the doorstep. Turn left from the garden gate and head up to the high fells of Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam. Or if you prefer something a little gentler, a short stroll brings you to the banks of Coniston Water where you can follow a picturesque path along the water’s edge.
With three large windows in each of the rooms, the apartment benefits from lots of natural light and a great outlook over the pretty country garden.
The open-plan living area has a modern very well-equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and integrated fridge/freezer. With a great selection of pots, pans, cutlery and glassware and a dining table and chairs for four people, you will have everything you need for cosy meals in.
Comfy sofas, armchairs and lots of cushions adorn the comfortable lounge making it a great place to unwind in front of the TV and DVD player. The electric wood burner effect fire will add some pleasant warmth on cooler evenings.
The first bedroom has a romantic four-poster double bed and is decorated in pretty pastel shades of lilac and pink. The second bedroom has a super-king size bed. Both bedrooms have fully tiled en-suite bathrooms, one with electric shower over the bath and one with a walk in shower, hand basin and WC.
In the reception area there are shared laundry facilities comprising of a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
Outside there is a lovely garden shared with the neighbouring apartment. Tarn Hows has its own seating area, with table, chairs, sunbeds and parasol. A wonderful place for you to lay back and spend a pleasant afternoon relaxing amongst the array of colourful azaleas, rhododendrons and hanging baskets.
There is off-road under-cover parking for two cars. Lockable storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment is also available.
