This cottage is part of a large stone-built barn sympathetically converted into three holiday cottages providing comfortable self-catering accommodation. It is situated in an imposing position at the foot of Blencathra with stunning views across the valley to Threlkeld common and Clough Head. The start of a walk up Blencathra can commence from the front door of the property.
The inn, situated behind the cottage, offers homemade bar meals and good ale, welcoming dogs and children. There are two more great country pubs in Threlkeld only a mile away, both serving good food and fine ales.
The market town of Keswick is just 5 miles away by car along the A66, or by a lovely walk which follows the old railway line with wooded areas and passes over the Victorian iron railway bridges. The imposing mountain of Skiddaw is also only a short distance away.
The large private patio area to the front of the cottage has wonderful views across the fells and is south facing. A further BBQ and picnic area is shared with the two adjoining holiday cottages. The cottage is situated in an easy accesible position by the A66 but set high up above it.
The main doorway leads into a large open-plan dining room and lounge with comfortable seating and TV, video, DVD player and CD/Radio. There is a dining table and chairs for up to six people. The kitchen leading off from here is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer.
The ground floor shower room has shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. A stairway leads down to a double and a twin bedroom, and bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and wash basin. The hallway from this level leads onto the large patio area with table and chairs. The stairway from the ground floor leads onto the first floor with large double bedroom.
There is also an extra sitting-out area in the communal BBQ and large picnic area shared with the adjoining two cottages.
Parking is to the side of the property in a large off-road parking area.
