A few steps lead up into this bright, friendly lodge. The refreshing and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner makes a fantastic living space for you all to unwind in. Wall-to-wall windows offer glorious views, and the lounge features plenty of seating, a cosy wood burner and a TV/DVD, making it a great spot for settling back at the end of a wonderful day. Set by the windows, the pretty farmhouse-style dining table is perfect for serving up a favourite family meal which you can rustle up in the stylishly arranged kitchen. There are two fresh, cosy and relaxing bedrooms, each with floor-to-ceiling windows: a charming twin room and an en-suite king-size room. There’s also a handy family bathroom. French doors open out from the living area and onto a raised decked space with outdoor furniture providing a delightful spot for dining alfresco, admiring the pretty views and meeting some of the local sheep.
There are miles of walks to be enjoyed starting from the village of Caldbeck (2 miles) which has some friendly pubs and cafes. A stroll along the Howk brings you to the ruins of a bobbin mill (3 miles), while more experienced walkers can attempt the peaks of High Pike (8.5 miles) and Carrock Fell (7.5 miles). Also nearby are Bassenthwaite Lake (9 miles) and Keswick on the shores of Derwentwater (15.5 miles).
