There are plenty of walks from the lodge, with the peaks of High Pike (8.5 miles) and Carrock Fell (7.5 miles) offering magnificent views for more experienced walkers, or you can stroll along the Howk to the ruins of a bobbin mill (3 miles). Heading further into the Lake District you can explore Bassenthwaite Lake (9 miles) and Keswick on the shores of Derwentwater (15.5 miles).
