Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, you’ll be positioned close to the river for scenic walks and a spot of fishing. Your large garden is a treat for balmy afternoons, especially if you fire up the BBQ and sizzle up something special for supper.

Simply presented and delightfully cosy, your home-away-from-home is thoughtfully styled for kicking back and unwinding with hot chocolate and your favourite films. The living space is open-plan and equipped with a handy kitchen area for all those home-cooked meals you’ll soon be tucking into in the conservatory. Both bedrooms have the added bonus of a private en-suite apiece. Outside, the terrace is elevated above the River Cocker, so you’ll be able to sip your glass of wine with a view. Off-road parking is available for two cars.

Situated close to the western reaches of the Lake District National Park (2 miles), the surrounding landscape is a natural playground for adventure. Bassenthwaite Lake is enchanting and serene 15.5 miles away, providing panoramic mountain scenery as you traipse around the water's edge and through Dodd Wood. For those who can’t resist scaling the mountains themselves, you’ll have Grasmoor (8 miles), Grisedale Pike (11.5 miles) and the infamous Skiddaw itself to climb within 13 miles. Heading in the opposite direction, the Cumbrian Coastline has a wealth of beaches and cliff top walks to discover such as St Bees Head (19.5 miles) and Whitehaven (15 miles).

We have just spent an amazing week at this property and will definitely be back again. Eric was an amazing host and nothing was too much for him. He was always ready for a chat and it was an absolute pleasure to stay here. The adjustments for a disabled person are brilliant, the best we have encountered in a holiday home.
