Hi Heather, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed your second stay, it's a lovely place for a relaxing break isn't it?
I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions for improvement, thank you. I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

This cottage was perfectly clean and reasonably well equipped but so close to the A66 that traffic noise was horrendous. The outside seating area was impossible to relax in because of this and it was difficult to sleep as the traffic never seemed to stop. The next door pub was a friendly place to eat and socialise but their customer’s cars often made our access difficult.

Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry to hear that the traffic noise bothered you. I would love to welcome you back to one of our more remote cottages in the future.

Clough View (or number 2, Scales View - the name Clough View appears nowhere on the building) is a great holiday accommodation for up to four people, especially if you fancy walking up Blencathra Mountain, which it is located at the foot of. We walked to the lake (or tarn) near the top, which was quite enough for us.

The "cottage" is pretty much a town house, spread over three floors, giving plenty of room, and there is also plenty of storage space - way more than you could possibly need.

We would certainly recommend this holiday cottage, and would stay again if we return to the area. The only downside is that it could do with someone walking round checking things, such as do all the lights work? Do the bathroom doors lock? Do the drawers open smoothly? The shower worked fine at times, but at other times was lukewarm, although there was a bath that could be used as an alternative.

So overall, a thumbs up!
