- What a lovely house! The view was fantastic, the garden was great with lots of hide and seek opportunities and it didn’t take my sons long to find the rope swing just along the river footpath.
Just a short walk into Keswick to get the essentials and being close to the A66 it didn’t take long to get to Cockermouth either for other necessities (thoroughly recommend the pies from Tony Harrison butchers in Cockermouth, the lamb with mint gravy one was exceptional).
Thick Riggs was a great base to start from for lots of different activities. The house itself is spacious and has a great shower for a post walk clean down. The rooms were lovely and whilst the sofas were a little old we found them comfy enough and fought over who got to sit in the recliner chair!
It was also a nice treat to see the birds eating from the feeders whilst we were having our breakfast and if you watched carefully you could sometimes see the little mouse who lives in the stone wall pop out to eat too.

Hello Lucy, Thank you for your glowing feedback! It's a gem of a cottage, isn't it? The location is perfect for making the most of everything that Keswick has to offer. I will certainly try the lamb with mint gravy pie you recommended!!! Family time is the best and you will have made memories that will last a lifetime. I would love to welcome you back again in the future.
