General Description

The Bolthole is a wonderfully deceptive first and second floor cottage for up to six people right in the heart of Windermere Village. Character filled and chock full of quirky charm, this three bedroom gem is the perfect place for a family or small group of friends to make the most of this sought after area. Modern, locally produced art, hangs on the walls and the decor is fresh with comfortable furnishings creating a really special space. Amazingly, for a village centre property, The Bolthole has bags of socialising room with a glorious double height living area and a mezzanine reading space.

On arrival at the property guests enter via the ground floor door and are drawn up the staircase by its colourful stripy carpet to the light landing and gorgeous living space. This wonderful double height room has a stunning large window drenching the room in light. There are two elegant grey sofas with sumptuous cushions, a Smart TV with a DVD player, a large map of the area and a large dining table with upholstered dining chairs. Perfect for long post-dinner conversations, planning your adventures under the watchful gaze of the highland cow painting! The well-equipped galley kitchen leads off from here with plenty of crockery, cookware and glassware for your stay. There's a built-in double oven, four ceramic hobs, dishwasher, microwave and helpful extras such as a blender.

Back to the landing and the first of the bedrooms. The comfy king-size bedroom has a wardrobe and dresser for storage and an en suite shower room with small electric shower. The light, bright twin room has a wardrobe and dresser as well as some over bed cupboards for storage and a view over Windermere's roof line to the fell tops in the distance. The main shower room has a small electric shower in a square enclosure, a vanity unit and WC.

Venture up the narrow staircase to the second floor and into the eaves where there are exposed beams everywhere. Through a little door you emerge onto the mezzanine balcony, where there are two comfy chairs for escaping with a good book. Alternatively younger ones can commandeer this space as their own play area, what a dream den for spying on the grown-ups below! Onward to the bright super-king size room, do mind your head on the ornate beam on the way in. This room has an en suite bathroom with a bath. There is also a washing machine and dryer on this floor.

With all of Windermere's amenities right on the doorstep this is the perfect "Bolthole" to enjoy your stay.
