Rose Cottage is in the small village of Threlkeld, a popular walking destination in the north Lake District. The imposing ridges of Blencathra stand tall above the village providing a wonderful backdrop to this quiet location.

Threlkeld is has two excellent pubs both just a few minutes walk from Rose Cottage. The Salutation and the Horse and Farrier are traditional pubs with warm welcoming atmospheres. They serve food and local ales. The Horse and Farrier serves a very popular Sunday lunch. Threlkeld is a quiet village in a good position for exploring this area of the Lake District.
Threkeld is linked to Keswick by a pleasant path along the former railway. The path is a flat 2 miles and home to plenty of wildlife. Keswick offers a wide selection of cafes, bars, pubs and the all important outdoor shops.
