This was a beautiful little cottage in a good location. Due to the weather we made a lot of use of the local miniature railway into Eskdale. We felt really comfortable here and there was very little passing traffic (less the trains). A lovely holiday location.

Hi Andrea, so sorry about the weather but glad to hear that it gave you the chance to explore Ravenglass Railway and the stunning Eskdale valley. It really is a wonderful location, isn't it?

A lovely, well appointed cottage. We had a great week at the Retreat and really couldn’t have asked for more, so peaceful and comfortable. It had everything we needed and the owner was very helpful. The village is beautiful and good pubs, the only downside is having to travel to do a full shop, but that’s the price you pay for being able to stay in this setting.
Close to the steam railway and Muncaster castle, which are both a good day out. We had a great time, thank you.

Great place to stay, very comfortable and cosy.
Ideally situated for railway enthusiasts, very enjoyable to be at the Ratty's station in less than a minute :-)

Hi Sylvere, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your break. The Ratty is great fun isn't it?
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.
