When you enter The Place you are enveloped by a feeling of calm. Step into the Farmhouse kitchen with its beautiful handmade units and revel in the luxury of the little things that start a holiday well - it is fully equipped with a Belling induction range cooker, De Longhi toaster and kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, full height American style fridge-freezer, microwave, Panasonic bread maker, belfast sink, dishwasher and plenty of storage space.
The utility room (accessed from the back door) has boot storage, hanging space, a Victorian style airer and a washing machine and dryer.
Off the utility room is a smart shower room with power shower, basin and toilet.
The sitting room has a wealth of original features dating back from 1664. Here you will find ancient beams, original fireplace, a bread oven and salt cellar along with modern comforts - quality fabrics and furnishings, paintings, widescreen TV and Blu Ray player, Roberts Bluetooth DAB radio, record player and records, woodburner and stylish, yet comfortable leather sofas.
There is also a woodburner in the dining room which has a large dining table with seating for 8, a writing desk in the window looking out onto the Lake District fells and mountains, a large window seat to curl up and read in, an antique dresser full of vintage china and a selection of board games and books for you to use and enjoy.
There are more fantastic views from the dual-aspect downstairs bedroom which is furnished with style and consideration. The top quality bed is usually made up as a king-size but can be unzipped to make two small singles if you let us know this requirement four weeks before you are due to stay (or upon booking).
Upstairs there three further bedrooms and astonishing lake views - one with a king-sized bed, one with a double, and a pretty twin with two singles. The bathroom is spacious with a freestanding roll top bath and a large separate shower enclosure. There is a cloakroom with an additional toilet.
Outside the garden is lovely, large and enclosed. The barn houses a table tennis table, table football and a pool table. There is a dining terrace with log brazier, sitting out spots dotted around, a pretty summer house, and even a secret garden, which kids and adults alike love. The views of Loweswater and the surrounding mountains are amazing. It is the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
