Through the lounge there are two small steps up to the handy utility room which has a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and additional WC.

The cottage is large spacious and well laid out. great for a larger group to spread out and enjoy the space. we had a lovely week here. The gardens are large enough to enjoy a game of skittles but unfenced and exposed and not well tended; the riverside patio is untended and riverbank overgrown. A flock of large cockerels is kept by the neighbour. Read moreThe cockerels roam freely through the garden and it is impossible to keep them out as there is no fencing . This caused major issues heightened as we were travelling with young children. Location between Wast Water and the lakes and the coast was glorious for exploring all the area has to offer. There is a lovely riverside walk along the Irt from the cottage and a pub 200 yds away Hide

Mill Cottage is a large property and catered easily for our family of six adults and three children. The cottage is in a great location for the western Lakes with easy access to walking trails, the coast including a sandy beach at Seascale and attractions for young children. Kitchen utensils, etc would benefit from thinning out, organised and betteRead morer stored. The surface of the main dining table in the kitchen was sticky. For an expensive property like this we would expect a welcome hamper. Hide

Great location for anyone wanting to explore Wastwater and the west lakes. House feels huge and for 3 generations of family works well with everyone having their own space. This is a lovely cottage, modern with good facilities. We were a family of 8, ranging from 88 yrs old to 27yrs old, and had a fabulous time. Set in a quite location with a nice pub 200 yards away. I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone who loves the Lake District.
