Lund Cottage is very spacious, however, it's a bit more worn and tired looking than in the website pictures. The fan in the kitchen is really loud and annoying and the heaters took a long time to warm the place up. Getting in the parking space is tricky as the lane is narrow but once you get the hang of it it's fine.
It's in a very peaceful location and, although the nearest town is 7 miles away, it has some great shops and lovely pubs.
It's a nice base for exploring Ennerdale and Buttermere lakes and we did enjoy our stay

Hi Emma, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely place to escape from the hustle and bustle for a while isn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed exploring, Ennerdale and Buttermere are two of my favourite places in the Lakes!
Thanks for letting me know about the fan and the heaters, I'll make sure they're both looked into.
I hope you can come back to explore more of the Lakes soon.

Lovely cottage, well equipped and comfortable. Amazing garden. However, there were some issues, living room rug smelt of stale urine. Fan in the kitchen and bathroom on all day, no way to switch them off. Flies everywhere, no way of getting them out.

Hi Ann, thank you for taking the time to leave your comments - I have had a look into these for you. Flies can be part of being in the countryside in the summer, especially if we have very hot weather. We are always happy to provide fly spray or papers if visitors need these. The fans in the cottage help reduce moisture at the property, as it is an older, stone cottage and they will kick in when moisture levels are high (for example in hot weather). The cleaner has checked over the rug and has been unable to recreate the smell you experienced, but they did ensure it was thoroughly cleaned following your departure. I'm pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hope you had fun exploring the area.
