Hinning House is set in an idyllic location in the Esk Valley, three miles from the remote and stunning valley of Eskdale. Hinning House provides comfortable accommodation in the peaceful western Lake District with glorious walks in every direction. The twelve acres of pasture and woodland are rich in wildlife with red squirrels, deer and many varieties of birds including barn owls.
The immediate area offers many opportunities for climbing, cycling or walking. Or you could simply relax in the tranquil garden, which stretches to 12 acres of pasture and woodland.
Hinning House makes an excellent base for exploring this western corner of Cumbria. Nearby Muncaster Castle has beautiful gardens and a wonderful Owl Sanctuary. Ravenglass on the coast has an interesting Roman history and is the main departure station for the famous La’al Ratty steam railway.
Wastwater, is six miles away framed by the magnificent fells of Great Gable and Scafell Pike - on a sunny day a truly unforgettable view.
