Whilst I would recommend the hayloft , we were there over Xmas with our dog and family. It says dog friendly however it doesn’t say anywhere that dogs are not allowed in the annexe. We were lucky that it was our daughter in the main hayloft and the dog could stay with her otherwise it could of been a problem.
Andrew and Kirsty were good hosts always on hand.
All in all we enjoyed our stay

We were given a very warm welcome by the owners, who personally showed us where everything was, they had the wood burner going so the cottage was lovely and cosy when we arrived, the cottage is well equipped and very comfortable in a stunning location and excellent value for money I would highly recommend a stay at the Hay Loft and I and the rest of my party would love to return for another visit at some point in the future!

The Hayloft is a huge space and a really interesting property. Some of the items in the cottage need updating especially the TV and some of the kitchen equipment (very worn for example frying pan) we were disturbed on 2 days of our stay asking for windows to be left open so decorater could paint windows ( I would have thought this would have been done when no guests were staying) Also despite advising owner that our dog was nervous around other dogs the owners dogs were outside our cottage on a number of occasions meaning we couldn't go out. Cottage information book said departure time was 10.30 but owner came round at 9am asking us to leave at 10am. I would suggest information book being updated rather than coming round so early and asking us to leave.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay at The Hayloft. I always welcome feedback from my visitors so that I know how their stay has been, and so I can chat with the cottage owners too if needs be. I am pleased that you enjoyed the size of the cottage and the interest that it offers, it really is quite unique, isn't it?! Since receiving your review the owner has replaced the TV and the frying pan, so thanks for making us aware. From time to time, some external works may take place during a visitor's stay and I am pleased that the owner chatted to you about this. The weather can often play a part in external work as well and I am pleased that this didn't involve anyone needing to be done inside the cottage. I do understand that it can be difficult having a nervous dog and I do offer as much information as I can on the website, such as the cottage having shared access, so that visitors can make an informed decision about the cottage they decide to book. I am also happy to help answer any questions that visitors may have before booking so that they can choose the best cottage for them. I will also have a chat with the owner so that they can update their information book with the right departure time. I do hope that the information I sent out in your email after booking helped with this as I make sure I always give the arrival and departure times to visitors. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review after your stay and I do hope that you are able to visit the Lake again soon.
