Really nice little cottage in a lovely location. Very comfortable beds.

A pub within walking distance but take your torch as very dark walking back up towards the cottage.

It would be great if there were more glasses available as there are not enough when there are 4 adults.

Would definitely recommend.

Hello Lass, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It's a gem of a cottage, isn't it? The location is hard to beat! It's always a bonus to have a pub close by on holiday, be it for a drink or some delicious pub grub. Thank you also for your feedback, I will look into this further. Come back any time, you can be sure of a very warm welcome.

A lovely cottage in the perfect location. Plenty of walking straight from the house and a great pub with live music within a 10 min walk.

Lovely owner and manager, both very attentive and helpful. Location at the foot of a hill opposite the Helvellyn mountains could hardly have been more picturesque and you can literally walk out of the gates into the coast to coast path. Cottage is modest sized, but well laid out and very comfortable for our family of four (including 2 grown up kids and 2 boxer dogs). Gardens are also surprisingly large and despite going in winter, we managed a couple of afternoons sat on the little patio admiring the stunning views. You HAVE to try the hot (locally made) Cumberland sausage baguettes from the lovely little local shop, but we found the local pub (White Lion) overpriced and mainly pre cooked food, feeling like a complete tourist trap (Queens Head in Troutbeck well worth the drive). We would definitely stay again and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone else.
