- Fellgarth is in a superb position high up on the fell behind Patterdale, the views are amazing and we loved our walks straight from the front door onto the local paths. The cottage can be kept toasty warm with the two log burners and a very responsive heating system. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is well appointed, plenty of crockery so that you can easily use the dishwasher. It was lovely to prepare meals on the counter return whilst checking out the view and we really appreciated the open plan design of the kitchen so that we could be cooking at the same time as chatting to people sitting round the dining table. Our small grandchildren loved the short walk to visit the angora goats, also the slightly longer walk to see the dragon's cave. Fellgarth is in the heart of the Lake District away from the crowds in an area of outstanding beauty, walking distance to the Ullswater steamer and, for those with more energy, easy access to Helvellyn. We would thoroughly recommend Fellgarth to anyone who likes a comfortable and welcoming cottage in a quiet and beautiful location.
