Its our 3rd visit to Damson. Great to be able to visit the Lake District again. We love Damson cottage. Great views from the cottage. Warm and well aired when we arrived. Cottage is comfortable and homely. Spacious bedrooms and the lounge has 3 windows and also high ceiling windows, so plenty of light.

The miniature railway is running again and the local food shop open and well stocked. Shop is 3 minutes by car or a half hour walk going via the red squirrels and countryside.

Plenty of walks. We discovered Irton Pike this visit. Its the pimple shaped hill you can see from the bottom left hand side of the garden. 200metres high and fabulous views in all directions. You can see the sea, Scotland and look down the Wast Water valley. We parked at the carpark nearby and walked around the side to the top of the hill.

Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed your break, it's the perfect place to get away from it all isn't it? The location is perfect if you enjoy getting out for some good walks. I hope you can come back and do it all again soon.

The cottage was so warm and comfortable and the initial impression was very welcoming. The position of the cottage is fantastic. Absolutely no complaints and would recommend the cottage and would certainly book it again.

I wouldn't recommend this cottage for the following reasons:
Overpriced for the quality of property
Carpet and flooring grubby and old, kitchen very dated
Shower dangerous to stand under - you need to arch your back and risk slipping due to the sloping of the bath tub end.
Mattress old any very hard even with two mattress protectors on

Minimal effort has been put into maintaining this cottage, there are no smoke or heat detectors, the fire extinguisher has an expiry date end 2013 and the information sheets on the property are either out of date or completely irrelevant.

On the plus side, the cottage is in a beautiful location, was warm and had plenty of hot water (which i suspect will be all that is published in the review - shame)
