We love Braegarth and this must be our 10+ visit over the last 5 years. Its like our 2nd home. The location is absolutely stunning in the most delightful garden, forest, and a small stream running through it. We all (kids included) love the summer house and the table tennis table in the garage. We will continue to come back to this lovely haven.

An authentic lakeland home which is quite beautiful. Wonderful location with spa and lovely swimming pool close by. Gardens kept to a very high standard. Good walks from the property and easy access to the village.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a beautiful location....just a shame we missed the good weather by a week! C'est la vie, when a holiday in The Lake District is the 'order of the day'. Curses!

Possibly the best equipped and located cottage we have ever hired. The garden is stunning! The Langdales are marvelous and we were lucky to visit in Rhododendron and azalea season!

We loved our stay here, it was like a home from home. Warm and cosy and everything in the house you could possibly need. The garden and the wildlife was a particular highlight. We also like the passes to swim at the Langsdale complex. A great family base for many walks.

Beautiful location, spacious and well-equipped. Felt like a home, with a beautiful garden and outlook. It's an easy walk to the pub, shop with lots of gentle (and not so gentle) walks/hikes accessible from the front gate, plus the complementary membership at the Langdale Leisure and Fitness Club made this an all weather activity home for all levelsRead more of fitness. This property is in an excellent location, with the family making the most of the facilities- table tennis in the garage, gym, swimming pool and tennis courts via the langdale sports pass. Barely needed to use our car during the entire week as Elterwater and the surrounding area is so special and beautiful. Thank you!

Braegarth is a truly beautiful house in an idyllic setting. The large garden is heavenly. The house was spotlessly clean, with comfortable furnishings and beds. Direct access to so many interesting walks & hikes. Easy to walk into Elterwater village, to the hotel facilities and to the shop & pub in Chapel Stile along the river (avoiding the road) WRead moree would love to stay here again. Hide

Most importantly, the location is in the heart of the Lake District and so perfectly placed for walking from the front door. Therefore the outlook is beautiful to the front (the rear is garden sloping up / trees). It has a massive garden to explore, but it's mostly on a slope; once the gardener arrived, we didn't see him again all day. There is aRead more place to eat 'next door' about 30 seconds walk, which do cocktails and takeaways as well as eat in, and we did not get any noise from that all week whatsoever. We made good use of the complimentary swimming pool / spa facilities membership every day at the hotel less than 2 minutes drive down the road, but although walkable, it's really only safe to drive with children as the road is narrow and there is no pavement.
