Luxuriate in a stay at this splendid stone barn deep in the beautiful Lake District. Sleeping five guests, and offering dog-friendly accommodation, the three-bedroom, three-storey retreat is situated near Outgate, 4 miles from Ambleside, and captures impressive views out across the undulating countryside, towards the fells. With generous internal space and a sizeable, enclosed garden for outdoor relaxation, this is a holiday home that is ideal for a family stay or for two couples together.
Make your way inside to find exceptional, reverse-level design accommodation that brings together contemporary comfort and original, rustic charm. Leave your walking boots or wellies in the large hall, which has underfloor heating, or tuck them away in the useful utility room, where there is ample space for your four-legged friend to bed down for the night. Also at this level is a single bedroom. Follow the oak staircase up to the first floor to find the remaining bedrooms, a king-size with an en-suite shower room and a super-king-size, with an en-suite bathroom. There is also a family shower room up here. Head on up to the top floor of the barn to emerge in a gorgeous, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted ceiling, some low beams and scenic views. Here, you can cook, dine and unwind together at the end of each adventurous day. There is also a Smart TV in here for catching up on your favourite shows. On summer days, cross the road carefully to bask in the sunshine of the lawned garden, while the children and pets play on the grass.
Venture just over 1 mile from the barn to the National Trust’s spectacular Tarn Hows, where you can enjoy a pleasant 2-mile walk all the way around the lake. Treat yourselves to a day out to Coniston Water too, 2.5 miles away.
