Escape to this outstanding retreat at Backbarrow, just 1.5 miles from Newby Bridge and 2 miles from the southern tip of Lake Windermere. Sleeping two guests, and also welcoming one canine companion, the inviting apartment is set on the second floor of a modern building. From here, head out for walks through picturesque countryside and along the banks of the river and the shores of the lake. Take a boat trip out across Lake Windermere from Lakeside, 2 miles away, or simply relax at your home from home with your loved one, taking in the picturesque views out over the River Leven.

Step inside, leave your walking boots and jackets in the lobby and make your way into the immaculate, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Enjoy the airy ambience of the light-filled room, lose yourself in the waterside vistas or settle down together in front of the Smart TV with a DVD player and Bluetooth speaker. Whip up a delicious dinner for two on those nights you chose to stay in, then dine together at the table. You also have a handy washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Indulge in a relaxing hot shower before heading off to your double bedroom every night. Sit out in the sunshine of the shared lawned areas as often as you choose, looking out for wildlife beside the river. You’ll have parking for one car, plus access to visitor spaces, subject to availability.

Plan trips out to Bowness-on-Windermere, 8 miles away; Windermere, 9 miles away, and Ambleside, 14.5 miles from the apartment, to potter in independent shops and dine out in eateries. Cartmel, 7 miles away, also has a colourful choice of shops and restaurants. Make your way to Coniston Water, about 7.5 miles drive, to walk beside the lake. Venture 12.5 miles to see the National Trust’s splendid Wray Castle.

The cottage was beautiful. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. Very clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little apartment suitable for a couple of. The area is nice and quiet with a peaceful setting., yet you are only half hour drive away from the lake and all its beauty. An ideal place to stay is this apartment.
