The property is one of four cottages tucked into a peaceful complex on the edge of the Lake District National Park – an unbeatable spot for walking, cycling or simply unwinding in nature. Nearby attractions include the Lake District Wildlife Park (7 miles), home to over 100 fascinating species, and the elegant Bassenthwaite Lake Station (8 miles), where you can sip afternoon tea aboard a restored 1930s Orient Express carriage. The Lakes Distillery (7.5 miles) hosts behind-the-scenes tours and tastings, while Mirehouse and Gardens (10 miles) is perfect for a relaxed day out surrounded by beauty and history. Wildlife lovers will adore the tranquil Dubwath Silver Meadows Nature Reserve (8.5 miles). For something completely different (and a must if you have children with you), head to Alpacaly Ever After (7.5 miles) to meet – and maybe even adopt – one of their friendly alpacas (or llamas!). This delightful two-bedroom cottage, all in lovely stone, is full of charm and is in a wonderful spot for a rural break with family or friends. It has a clever upside-down layout that makes the most of those glorious countryside views from the upstairs lounge.

On arrival, step inside to discover a warm and homely interior, starting with an entrance hall featuring a standout tartan carpet. On this level are two inviting bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. The place is decked out in a welcoming vintage style, with a mix of floral curtains, wooden details and warm tones. For hanging out with fellow guests, head upstairs to the heart of the home: an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, complete with a Smart TV (with Sky Sports) and a wood burner. Ceiling beams and dual-aspect windows make this a charming, airy space. There’s also a fantastic French balcony where you can sit and absorb those far-reaching countryside views. The kitchen, featuring gorgeous wooden units, comes well-equipped for whipping up your favourite meals.

Outside, you’ll have a small enclosed patio with furniture for al fresco dining, plus shared access to the grounds with a lawn, additional seating and a BBQ. On-site parking is available for two cars.

If youre looking for a peaceful tranquil place to stay then look no further. Fabulous views, cosy, peaceful & simply fabulous. This is a lovely cottage, very comfortable lounge furniture & the beds, especially the double bed. Theres a dishwasher & tablets were supplied. In the shared utility theres a washer & dryer ready to use if needed. We took Read moreour own detergent. The kitchen is well stocked with things you might need. What was lovely was the warm welcome from Alan & the little treats left for us, wine, chocs, flowers, tea, coffee, sugar & milk. We were made to feel very welcome. Its so peaceful apart from the baaing of the sheep/lambs & the chirping of the birds. I loved it. Im already looking at dates to rebook for next year. Hide
