Offering far-reaching views from a charming balcony, this beautifully updated getaway is a great base for discovering the breathtaking Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake.

Entering this airy first-floor apartment, you will find the elegant, light-filled and relaxing lounge which is an ideal space to unwind in at the end of a great day out. With high ceilings, big bay windows, a Smart TV and plenty of seating, the lounge is perfect for snuggling up to watch a movie, chatting about the day or catching up with a good book. The bright and fully equipped kitchen/diner provides an ideal spot for rustling up and sharing all your favourite family meals. Exploring this bright and spacious apartment further, you will have a choice of two stylish king-size bedrooms. There’s also a handy shower room. From the kitchen, you can step out onto a small balcony and enjoy a morning coffee as you take in the views.

The apartment is close to plenty of Keswick’s many popular attractions including the Puzzling Place, Keswick Museum, the Derwent Pencil Museum, the Alhambra Cinema and the Theatre by the Lake. The town sits at the head of Derwentwater, a popular lake for water sports including kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing. Other local attractions include Mirehouse and Gardens on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake (4.5 miles), Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum (6 miles) and Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles). The peaks of Skiddaw and Blencathra (both within 7.5 miles) are to the north.

Had a wonderful week over Christmas in this lovely apartment. The location is perfect for everything you need as its right in the centre of Keswick. The apartment was lovely and warm and very comfy beds and sofas, we had everything we needed. Thanks for the eggs and mulled wine, sorry we didnt enjoy them as were mainly vegan and dont drink. This is a great property to stay in, we enjoyed the space, high ceilings and excellent quality furnishings, plus having somewhere safe to park a large car off road in Keswick, is a real bonus. There are great scenic views of mountains from all windows. We would be happy to stay here again, thank you.

Great location and lovely spacious immaculate accommodation with tasteful decor. The location was also fantastic. This is the best place that we have stayed in Keswick by far. The owner was also very helpful and accommodating.

Wow! What can I say an absolute gem of an apartment. Central in Keswick with own parking available. The views from all the windows were magnificent and having a quiet downtime with a nice cuppa looking at the scenery was fantastic. Nice touch by having some milk and eggs for our arrival. As regular visitors to the Lake District for about 40 years, Newlands Retreat is by far the best self-catering property we've ever stayed in. The cleanliness and comfort were second to none. Fabulous situation, so central to Keswick and the lake only a 10 minute walk away. Spacious and comfortable bedrooms and lounge area. Lovely views out of the windows across the town and to Catbells. Bonus of a private parking space is invaluable as spaces are at a premium when the town is busy.

We enjoyed the apartment, as last time, found it a very useful handy position in Keswick ie:- shopping for meals, near to buses, ferries, local walks & restaurants.
