The Barn was almost perfect. It was warm and comfortable and quiet. The only let down was part of the seal on the oven was missing so we wouldn't use it. We were told that spares are unavailable. A quick look on espares and they have cut to size replacements at very little cost. This is however, a minor issue as it meant could eat out more often.

Bridge End Cottage and The Barn are both exceptional places to stay. Over the past 20 years I've introduced this place to over a hundred people ( I own a small Travel Company ) because we take it as a base for our hiking trips in the Lake District. People immediately fall in love with it and after having closed the last gate on our last day it is aRead moredded to their happy memories. Hide

This was our second stay at this beautiful cottage. Once again, we enjoyed the beautiful and especially peaceful surroundings. Everything you need is provided in the cottage. The phone reception is poor, but the fast Wi-Fi more than compensates. It's also great that you can take lovely walks right from the cottage doorstep (definitely visit Potter Read moreTarn and Gurna Dubs). We again plan to return! Hide

Traditional cottage simple retreat with peace and quiet, a chance to unwind and be in a natural environment. Plenty of space around being situated within a sheep farm in a beautiful valley. After a day hiking or sight seeing you'll be glad to come back and relax. Friendly considerate hosts. Most enjoyable.

Once again a wonderful stay at the Barn..We were fortunate that the weather stayed dry. For those like us who like the tranquility of getting away from everyday life and enjoy being surrounded by the beauty of nature The Barn is ideal. The owners family don't bother you but will always chat if you meet them.

A lovely cottage in a stunning setting, small but remarkably well equipped. We had a wonderful peaceful week there, seeing pleasing wildlife and fascinated by the lambing going on all around us.

We had such a happy time and slept so well in the comfortable beds with white sheets. Although we chose the cottage for its isolation it was no journey at all to visit other places. We will certainly be going back there next year. And Helen, the owner, even popped in to say a quick hello :she could not have been more helpful.
