For a restful Cumbrian break as a couple or solo traveller, stay at this peaceful retreat within Aynsome Manor Park, located at the southernmost tip of the Lake District National Park. You’ll be just 1 mile from the charming village of Cartmel, known for its pretty scenery, historic buildings and ancient priory – and also home to your nearest pub. With its backdrop of rolling hills and proximity to excellent walking routes, this beautiful home makes a wonderful base for rural exploration.

Previously part of a mill, the property is one of a collection of adjoining apartments and cottages that share a quaint courtyard. On arrival, step into the spacious, open-plan living area comprising a lounge, kitchen and dining area. The decor is attractive and stylish, with neutral tones and subtle artistic touches adding charm to the space. Double-aspect windows let plenty of light in and provide lovely views of the garden and duck pond – great for enjoying as you sip tea or tuck into meals. You’ll have a lovely garden, too, where you can sizzle up summer BBQs and read quietly in the fresh air.

You’ll find plenty to do nearby, whether taking the dogs up to Hampsfell (2.5 miles) for breathtaking views or visiting Holker Hall and Gardens where you’re welcome to picnic on the grounds. The vibrant market town of Kendal (14.5 miles) is alive with arts and cultural events, while nature lovers will adore exploring the wooded trails of Grizedale Forest (12.5 miles). Head to Lake Windermere, which starts just 7 miles north, for fantastic walking, boating and water sports opportunities.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Willow View. It is located on a magical Lake District peninsula where there are splendid views of Morecambe Bay and its sands. There are several of Alfred Wainwrights Outlying Fells within a 10/20 minute drive of the apartment and we greatly enjoyed ticking them off our peak bagging list. Brilliant stay. We both loved the apartment/cottage. So clean and well equipped. Nice touches, dog treats and bottle of prosecco. Beautiful walks and views almost on the doorstep. Thankyou so much.

This is a lovely cottage in a superb location. It was very clean and it is well equipped. We appreciated the wine and our pup appreciated the dog treats!

We absolutely loved our holiday. What an amazing apartment, part of a group of cottages set in beautiful gardens in an idyllic, peaceful, quiet position/ location. We absolutely loved the garden, sitting by the pond listening to the birds. We were able to walk into Cartmel through the fields, about 1 mile. Really well equipped. Comfortable cottage located in a good area with plenty of places to visit within easy reach. While the walk into Cartmel is only around a mile, it is along a fairly narrow road without a footpath so is not a very pleasant experience.

We had a lovely stay at Willow View Apartment. It is very clean,comfortable,well furnished and has everything you need. The Apartment is about 1 mile from Cartmel and is set in very attractive grounds.I could definitely recommend this property for a stay in Cartmel
