Cockermouth is filled with lovely local shops, art galleries, cafés, pubs and restaurants, all within 300 metres of your front door. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the house’s proximity to excellent walking trails, while seaside fans will be keen to visit the nearest beach at Maryport (8.5 miles). With space for five, this beautifully presented home is wonderful for families and groups of fell walkers.

The end-of-terrace cottage features a charming monochrome facade and a traditional look. Inside, it’s been renovated to a high standard, with a clean colour scheme of black, white, greys and splashes of bright colour. Leave your coats and hiking boots in the entrance hall before stepping into the inviting lounge, equipped with a gas fire housed within a striking black fireplace, and a Smart TV. The elegant dining room has a glass-topped dining room and an elegant feature fireplace – white this time. It leads to a galley kitchen with glossy white tiles and units. On the first floor, there is a spacious king-size bedroom and a cosy single bedroom, along with a family bathroom. Head up to the second floor, and you’ll find a characterful double bedroom. Outside, the private garden is wonderful for relaxing in the fresh air, with outdoor furniture, a lush lawn, a decking area, a BBQ set and secure storage for bikes.

Cockermouth is home to the childhood residence of William Wordsworth, the famous poet. You can visit his home and garden (500 metres), now a National Trust site, during your stay. Within a radius of 11 miles, the stunning lakes of Bassenthwaite, Buttermere, Crummock and Loweswater beckon for hiking opportunities and water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding. A great holiday house with everything you need for a wonderful stay. We loved our stay. It's rare to find a home with a fully enclosed garden where we can let our dog out without fear of her jumping the fence! It was beautiful and the weather was perfect which made sitting out in the garden in the evening blissful. The house has everything you coulRead mored think of for your stay. The location is great, only a short stroll into town or along the river. It was so quiet, we never heard a peep out of anyone or anything. Parking was a bit of a pain, but it's not unreasonable. Having the parking disc helps a lot and we only had to pay for parking one day when we went into Cockermouth town for a few hours. Would definitely recommend staying here. Hide

Absolutely beautiful place to stay, really clean and lots of space. The location is perfect and extremely accessible for central Cockermouth and an Aldi nearby. Sullart street parking is super easy to get to too and is literally a 2 minute walk from the house. Some gorgeous walks and places to visit nearby

Comfortable house. Parking was an issue as its not possible to park on the residential street for any longer than a hour. The carpark was a walk away and payable. The garden is full of bushes with berries extremely toxic to dogs, so if you have dogs who eat anything you cant let the dogs play in the garden. Also neighbours have access through the gRead morearden on bin day, something else to be aware of if you have dogs. Hide

Lovely cottage in a great location next to the town centre. Parking is tight everywhere in the town but the owners were kind enough to leave a parking permit for one car so we managed to park outside the property.
