Medlar cottage is a perfect, comfortable, well equipped hideaway. Owners David and Dori are the most friendly, helpful hosts you could wish to meet. The cottage is situated just on the edge of the lake district near Penrith and as such is the perfect base for exploring said area. Barnside is a beautiful cottage in a lovely village. It is clean, comfortable and eell-equipped. As well as being handy for the Lakes, there are lovely villages in the area between Penrith, Keswick, Carile and Brampton. Caldbeck especially being one of them. Thank you for everything, Dori and David.

We rang prior to visiting and spoke with Dave who was extremely welcoming and approachable. Property was lovely, clean and comfy. The area outside was great and the millpond was beautifully tranquil, it was just a shame that the good weather seemed to end as we arrived. We both think you'd thought of everything possible for your guests.

Really nice cottage and it's quiet and secluded. For us this was a drawback as there wasn't even a shop nearby for essentials we had to travel to Penrith. There also wasn't a welcome box, which we found unusual as well as we stay in quite a few places over the years and have had one in every single place except here
