Make yourself at home in this attractive detached property set in a quiet cul-de-sac in the pretty village of Newton Reigny. The house is perfect for a family or friends looking for outdoor adventures, with access to outdoor swimming (seasonal) at Greystoke Pool (4 miles) or walks, cycling and water sports in the Lake District National Park (less than 6 miles).

As you enter the house, you will notice the welcoming touches, such as artwork on the walls, and how light and airy the rooms are. You enter the hallway, and to your left is a handy utility room and bathroom – ideal if you want to freshen up after a walk or bike ride! Straight ahead is the spacious lounge with a view of the garden and a dining area that leads into the conservatory – a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, read a book, relax and listen to the birds ! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a hearty breakfast or a delicious dinner. Upstairs, you'll find the second bathroom and three pretty bedrooms: a king-size, a twin, and a single. At the rear of the house, accessible from the kitchen and conservatory, is a beautiful, enclosed garden with a lawned area and a patio with seating for al fresco dining on fine evenings. The garden is also a space for children to play.

Ullswater (11 miles) is home to the Ullswater Steamers, perfect for a relaxing cruise and the chance to hop on off and admire the splendid scenery. Alternatively, make a splash and hire kayaks, go for a swim or try fishing before enjoying a picnic and some family time. Penrith (3 miles) has plenty of pubs, local cafes, and restaurants for an evening out.

This has been the best choice of our trip. Everything is sparkling clean and new. You can tell from the gardens that the owners put a lot effort and care on the house. Kitchen is fully equipped and bathrooms are nice. Everything is just perfect. Thank you!

Oakdene is a perfect holiday base. The owners live next door & are very welcoming & helpful, without being at all intrusive. We really enjoyed staying at Oakdene - a real home from home. We love to be able to see the sights during the day and be able to come back to somewhere comfortable to cook a meal and relax in front of the TV. I would like to say this place has potential but I can't. It already has everything needed for a family of five. The only downsides, the drive isn't long enough for my 5m long SUV and the roof slope encroaches on each upper floor room. Don't let this put you off, numerous guests have been back several times, not surprising.

Highly recommend a stay here, cottage really clean and well put together with everything you could need. Little girl really enjoyed all the kids toys that were tailored to her age. We really enjoyed our time in Oakdene, the accommodation was excellent. The property was well maintained, it had a high standard of cleanliness. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable and relaxing. The garden was lovingly cared for, it was a pleasure to sit in it. We had a great holiday in Oakdene. The house is comfortable, well equipped, we didn't miss anything and really cleaned. Location is good too to visit the lake district. The kids (4 of them : a teen, 2 school age and a toddler) were all always happy to get back to the holiday house after a day out.

Absolutely lovely house, spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need and more in the kitchen. If I had to make one suggestion it would probably be a bigger toaster, but thats me being picky.
