After a long drive, it was wonderful to arrive at such a lovely, clean cottage. The cottage was spotless and equipment provided for cooking excellent. Fridge, washing machine & dishwasher was hidden bhind doors which was a great space saver and small freezer really handy. Lovely spacious bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Really cozy cottage which weRead more thoroughly enjoyed staying in. The most importnat aspect for me is that the dogs were safe and the garden was fully enclosed. We have 2 jack russels and to see the netting on the gate when entering the property was very reassuring. The field at the top of the garden was also a bonue as the dogs could have a run around before getting in the car when out looking at local attractions. Greyhound pub which was a 5 minute walk was very friendly and food was good. The area is beautiful and the lakes excellent to visit. At Coniston lake - Bluebird cafe I had the bigget piece of Victoria Sponge I hve ever seen - worth a visit. Lake Windomere was gorgeous with plenty to see and although busy wasn't too bad. Sun was shining as well which was good. Ambleside was also lovely abd worth a visit. The Old Kings Head in Broughton on Furness does a fantastic Sunday lunch which we can definately recommend. We used the jacuzzi once which was lovely but the 2nd time we tried the water didn't heat but that could well have been our fault for not letting it warm up for a longer period. Weather was not great but we still thoroughly enjoyed our week & feel that this is the best Dog Friendly cottage we have ever stayed in 5 Stars Hide
