Make the most of this comfortable hideaway in Cockermouth when you plan your great escape to the Lake District. Sleeping two guests, the two-bedroom, ground-floor retreat is ideal for a couple or a pair of friends looking to be close to independent shops and eateries, as well as to impressive scenery, great walks and places of historical interest. From here, step straight out to potter in the interesting outlets of the town and to see its castle or visit the National Trust’s Wordsworth House and Gardens. Make forays into the Lake District, about 2 miles away, including to Bassenthwaite Lake, a 7-mile drive, known for its array of wildlife.

Enter the apartment via the porch, where you can hang your jackets and leave your walking boots, then find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Settle in here on the soft seating after your exhilarating excursions. Find a film to enjoy together on the Smart TV, make plans for the following day and decide whether to dine out in Cockermouth or prepare something tasty here at home – you’ll have all the equipment you need in the kitchen area. When you are ready to lay your heads on your pillows for the night, wander through to one of the two inviting double bedrooms. Awake to have a hot shower before breakfast. From Cockermouth, drive 8.5 miles to the beautiful lakes of Loweswater and Crummock Water, where you will find footpaths to follow through magical scenery. Have a day out in Keswick, 14 miles away. Book tickets for a show at the Theatre by the Lake, try your hand at water sports or take a cruise out on picturesque Derwentwater while you are here.

Lovely place lovely and clean and well equipped with everything you need. Bed was very comfy and shower was great. No complaints from me

A great stay in a beautiful and fully equipped apartment. The only down side personally was the location on a busy road. We found the noise loud but we are not used to noise at home. Great location for getting about and seeing the beautiful Lake District. The owner is very helpful and available if you need help.

This place was a clean, well-equipped place to stay with easy access to the Lake District for various activities. There are multiple shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby.

Lovely clean apartment with quality fittings more a home from home and the owner is always at hand and very helpful. Its only a 5 minute walk into town and along the riverbank would recommend this to anyone.

We loved the location: walkable to a good selection of restaurants and pubs as well as a choice of supermarkets. The apartment itself had a well equipped kitchen and was very clean.
